Morning
- I’ll pick you up from your Brașov hotel and head to Prejmer Fortress, one of the best-preserved fortified churches in Eastern Europe. I’ll share stories of sieges, medieval life, and the clever ways villagers protected themselves.
Late Morning / Rupea Fortress
- Next, we climb to Rupea Fortress, a medieval hilltop fortress with panoramic views over the countryside. I’ll share tales of its turbulent past while we wander the ramparts and take photos.
Lunch
- We’ll enjoy a traditional Romanian meal at a local guesthouse, sampling recipes passed down through generations.
Afternoon / Viscri Village
- We drive to Viscri, a UNESCO-listed Saxon village loved for its authenticity. We’ll explore the cobbled streets, visit King Charles’ house, and step inside the fortified church to admire its architecture and learn about its history. I’ll also introduce you to a local craftsman — perhaps a blacksmith or weaver — who still practices traditional methods.
Late Afternoon / Return
- Scenic drive back to Brașov through rolling hills and forests, with stops for photos or to enjoy the peaceful rural scenery.
- Arrive in Brașov in the late afternoon.
